Project cover

People can change the sound through a simple hand gesture. Users can select four sounds and by opening their hands, they may exit the sound selection and move on to modify another sound.
A molecule is placed at the centre of the graphic interface, and every sound is represented by an atom.
The molecule represents our planet, and the hand gestures represent the modifications made by people.
Every sound is obtained from the recording of a natural sound, and the users’ hand gestures render this sound.
The audio is generated in real time with Max/MSP. The graphic interface is made with processing and the hands gestures are analyzed with Kinect.
