Luna Somnium was first installed in the Gazometro in Rome, hung to the metal structure of the building and suspended in the air. In this case, the structure of the building is fundamentally different, developing in length, not in height. Moreover, architectural assessments of the space excluded the possibility of hanging the inflated sphere to the parabolic vault, making an additional structure necessary.

The installation featured a !!!! XXm !!!! white sphere, floating in the space thanks to cables hung to a black truss structure. The skeleton sustaining the installation attempted to be as simple as possible so as not to be too prominent during the experience of the work itself. The installation was placed in the middle of the corridor, to allow visitors to fully experience the piece from all angles. An important adaptation involved the audio system: the original sound design had been optimised for a circular space, relying on a spatialization of the soundtrack through multiple audio sources placed around the perimeter of the building. The unique layout of Gallerie Mercatali required us to redesign the experience and devise methods to replicate the sensation of dynamic sound in its elongated space.
