Artificial Botany has made its debut on the occasion of the exhibition NEO at the Museo de la Ciència CosmoCaixa in Barcelona, in 2021. The museum's rich history provided the ideal backdrop for exploring, for the first time, this unique interpolation of botanical shapes as interpreted by artificial intelligence.

CosmoCaixa, the Science Museum of Barcelona, stands as an important reference point for the scientific community. Situated in a historic building that was originally an old asylum, the museum was opened in 2004 and now houses a series of permanent and temporary exhibition spaces, covering fields such as astronomy, geology, biology, and technology.
CosmoCaixa has a strong commitment to making science accessible and enjoyable for all ages. The museum's design itself is a testament to this mission, featuring a modern architectural style that integrates seamlessly with its historical surroundings. Inside, visitors can explore a variety of hands-on exhibits and participate in interactive workshops, all aimed at stimulating a deeper, practical understanding of scientific concepts.
The exhibition “NEO” was focused on highlighting the pivotal role of plants on Earth. Also including works by Vincent Houzé and Dave & Gabe and Diana Toucedo, Artificial Botany is contextualised as merging and putting in contact the tradition of botanical illustration with the contemporary digital realms, using artificial intelligence to reinterpret botanical forms. The exhibition as a whole explores from different perspectives and mediums the intersection of contemporary art and technology, offering new perspectives on the theme.
